Annual Schedule

Timetable for Music Makers Choir from Sept 2024 to June 2025.

This timetable doesn't provide for the details of the performances, which will be announced on the website, closer to the date. 

 Dates are subject to change. 

Music season Sept 24 to Dec 24.

• Music acquisition. Nancy orders the music for the following year during June and July. She delivers by Mid-August to Madalyn Vachon for stamping and numbering and to Nancy Stock to begin making recordings. Recordings complete and distributed by e-mail, as soon as possible in late September

  

• Potluck Lunch at Nancy Thomson's. Sept 5th, 12:30 - 3:30   

• Workshop- Sept 7th. At Shepherd King church, 804 75 Ave, from 9:30 - 1:30PM

• First Practice – September 12- music and binders will be distributed to choir and Last Practice – December 12 when music will be handed in.

• Choir practices Thursday mornings at 9:30am-11:30 at Shepherd King Church

• Carol Festival at Knox United church, 506 4th St SW. on Dec 2nd. Time to be arranged.

• Christmas Luncheon 9th Jan. Details to be announced. 

• Workshop-  11th Jan at Shepherd King church from 10 am to 3 pm. 

• Choir practices. Same time and location.  New music distributed.

• One of these performances will likely be combined with an out-of-town spring outing.

• Casino. We are invited to help staff a casino for two consecutive weeknights, once every 18 months.  The next one is scheduled for January 25,26 of 2025.  It runs from 11am to 4 am.  36 of us are needed as volunteers, to take a shift and be cashiers, chip runners or counters.  The last two times, we have received $65,000 and $85,000.  This helps keep our membership fees low, but we can’t pay all our expenses with casino money, because of ALCB rules. 

• Annual General Meeting.  Held in mid-May, on a Thursday, at 11 am at the Blackfoot Inn. It follows an hour's choir practice.  There is a luncheon afterwards. 

• Biennial Concert Sat June 7th. 

Last concert was on June 3rd, 2023, at Woodcliffe United church from 2-4pm.  We sang 13 songs, which were interspersed with numbers by the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers Group.  A reception catered by the choir, followed. It seemed to be a successful event with about 150 people in the audience.  

# Social outings may also be included in the annual timetable and will be arranged in the fall and spring.
